But I Got it Cheaper at Wal-Mart/eBay/Online…

A little bit of a rant here…

One of the phrases we hear a lot at the shop relates to the product we sell and the ability of a customer to get something similar at Wal-Mart/eBay/online for considerably less money.  It doesn’t matter the product type: car, boat, plane, or helicopter – we still get to hear about it.  Now I’m not one to just only spend money because of a brand name or store, however, I am one who will drop the extra cash on something that is better quality.  That’s where your local hobby shop comes in to play.  We don’t carry the cheaper brands because we cannot support those brands.  How often have you been to Wal-Mart and checked out their repair parts section?  How about asked their floor staff for help fixing them after they’ve broken?  Had the staff give you information about a local club?

The silence speaks for itself.

The items we sell are hobby grade.  They are made to take a beating, fly fast, do tricks, pretty much absorb any punishment you can throw at them within reason.  And when that reason fails, your local hobby shop has the experience, parts, and connections to vendors to get you back into the air or on the track.  That’s what that extra price is getting you:  quality.  We want you to continue to enjoy your hobbies, whatever they may be, but you are not likely to keep with it if you cannot keep your car/boat/plane/helicopter in great shape.

Mike Bobe of Bobe's Hobby House describes it perfectly:

"When shopping this holiday season (or any other time) for Radio Control Vehicles, be they Drones, Helicopters, lanes, or Cars, please keep this simple tip in mind...

If you fly, or drive these vehicles, they WILL eventually CRASH!

So, make sure that you are buying something that can be fixed! Parts for these items are much like parts for you real car. Ford parts won't generally fit on a Chevy!

Rather than buying that wonderful deal you found on Ebay, the internet, the local convenience store or what have you, buy from someone who supports what they sell! Buy from a store that carries parts, and can help you FIX it when it crashes! Make sure it's someone who will actually be there when Christmas is over!  Your local Hobby store (Whether us or someone else) has experience with these items and can help you find the right level for what you want to do! Don't waste your money on something you can't fix!"

We appreciate all of our customers and realize that we’re not in the best economic areas; however we stock quality products for all budgets.  Stop in and check us out – you’ll never know what you’ll find!
