Recently, after a lot of water-cooler talk and hot air, a bunch of us local RC car/truck/buggy enthusiasts decided instead of talking about getting out and racing – they’d actually do it. So an evening was picked, a location found, and word of mouth did the rest. What happened after was a thing of beauty: everyone had fun!
The first night, 10+ drivers showed up with cars/trucks/buggies of all shapes and sizes. Nitro, gas, electric – it didn’t matter. Everyone hit the asphalt and traded paint as they raced around the impromptu oval track. There’s nothing really formal going on, just do the best you can, keep up, and – most importantly – have a TON of fun. That was three, almost four, Thursdays ago. I’m really hoping that this keeps up, that the momentum keeps it going on through ‘till the temps drop and the snow flies.
Check out our Surface photo gallery, there are some great pictures of our newly-formed group, Kootenai RC Racers having a blast. Also check out the YouTube video to see some very amateur video from my GoPro-equipped quadcopter. If you’re interested, shoot me a message on here, check our the Kootenai RC Racers Facebook page, or stop by J. Neils Park parking lot at 6:30 on a Thursday…
